ON

MOUNTAIN ECOSYSTEM PROCESSES AND SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD

ICMEPSL 2024

icmepsl1.jpg

Globally, mountains confront an array of challenges, ranging from water scarcity, soil degradation, and biodiversity depletion to food insecurity, escalating pollution, mass migration, and environmental hazards like earthquakes, floods, landslides, avalanches, and rapid glacier melt. These issues significantly affect the lives of both mountain dwellers and those residing near these areas. As a result, comprehending mountain ecosystems and their associated processes has become an imperative. This conference is meticulously designed to foster an understanding of mountain ecosystems on a global scale and to explore how livelihood options are being managed within these regions.
